Jessi Valentine was enrolled in an Investigative Criminology graduate program at Seattle University before an impromptu career pivot toward caricature artistry changed her life. Before applying for a job at Over The Line Art on Indeed, she thought, "I've been drawing all my life; it's an easy summertime job. I'll just do this temporarily, and then I'll go back to school. No problem at all." She shared with us during this episode, "That was two years ago. I have not gone back to school. This is my full-time job, and I am in love with it."

"The perfect faces are..."
A. Flawed, but not flawed.
B. Conventionally attractive.
C. Typically oval shaped.
This is your first excursion into the bustling arcades and we're headed DownUnder to the 4th level. Jessi says that her modern studio at Over The Line Art is "in front of the comic book shop," but there's nothing funny about the steady crowd of admirers that her artistry attracts. During our interview patrons from Golden Age Collectables, Gem Heaven, and Merry Tails fashioned a small crowd for a closer gander.
Expert caricature artists skillfully highlight distinctive features and personality traits, transforming them into amusing yet recognizable illustrations. Jessi's keen eye for detail and flair for creativity allow her to capture a playfulness that ignites instant nostalgia.
