On this special birthday 🥳 episode of MITM, we're celebrating with former U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue specialist Brian Holmquist (Director of Operations, Holmquist Hazelnut Orchards) while unearthing the details behind his century-long family legacy. He said,"In the 1980s my brothers and I were old enough to run the dairy. My dad expanded out from our farm and got into more nuts. So our five-acre patch at that time, there was a transition, but we expanded out to 80 acres. And then, somewhere right towards the end of the '80s or the early '90s, my dad actually started at Pike Place Market and a local market in Bellingham. Right now, I'm managing 24 farmers' markets every week!"

Pike Place Market History 📚: "Our Crafts & Farmers Market is an iconic destination where artists and crafters sell their handmade goods alongside farmers and artisans. Find the perfect bouquet, raw honey, fresh cherries, and unique handmade jewelry in this section of Pike Place Market. The businesses who set up along these tables change their location daily. Search all our businesses in our Market Directory." (c/o Pikeplacemarket.org)
There's a saying among Farmers: "The early bird gets the worm." As you can see, Will was the first merchant in the arcade when our tour arrived at the Crafts & Farmers Market. ☀️Samples flowed as Pike Place residents chatted him up and grabbed a handful (or two) of Holmquist Hazelnuts during their morning meanders. 🙋🏼 His charming personality and beautifully packaged selections make this merchant a "make haste to taste" destination during your next visit! 🏃🏽♂️
